It's Not Over

Hello my dearest readers.
Yes. yes. I know that I have been absolutely negligent but I have multiple excuses.
  • First and foremost: my computer, my lovely dinosaur that has served me well for years, finally bit the dust a few weeks ago. I allowed my brothers to use it and apparently, that was too much for the ancient beast to take. After a few weeks of Myspace Mafia wars and hit up booty calls, one night it began to engage in an endless reboot cycle (start screen, black screen, blue screen of death). Finally, with a little bit of tech support from my absolutely amazing sister, I was able to get it back up and save all my files. Unfortunately, the access to the internet was fried. It wouldn't connect to wifi or respond when it was connected via an ethernet cord. I am currently using my mom's computer.
  • I started a new job. After a year of concentration on nothing but school, Firefly is now gainfully employed (although, I am still in school, too). I am working at a *skilled nursing facility and rehabilitation center.* In other words, a nursing home. It isn't as awful as you would think. Yes, there are some less than desirable things that my job involves but I actually enjoy helping people who could not otherwise help themselves. And I feel as if I am paying tribute to my grandparent's and great-grandparent's generation by assisting their peers in their activities of daily living.
  • School started back last week. Adult Nursing 1, Mental Health Nursing, and Introduction to Speech. Oh, dear God, Help me.

Happy New Year

"May your coming year be filled with magic and dreams and good madness. I hope you read some fine books and kiss someone who thinks you're wonderful, and don't forget to make some art -- write or draw or build or sing or live as only you can. And I hope, somewhere in the next year, you surprise yourself." - Nail Gaiman
